Bella’s volunteer staff is the real heart of our ministry. Without our volunteers, we would not be able to function. Volunteers are used in almost every area including but not limited to the following: counseling clients, sonography, answering the “help-line,” receptionist, accounting, sorting clothes, repairing furniture, cleaning offices, speaking to various groups, fund-raising, representing Bella in their churches, distributing baby clothes, food and furniture, instructing new mothers on how to properly care for their new baby, preparing newsletters, stuffing envelopes and many other activities.
The number of hours spent by our volunteers is extremely hard to estimate but is in excess of 3,000 hours per year. If we were to hire a person to do these activities, it would cost the Center close to $36,000 per year in additional expenses.
Bella is now accepting applications for the following volunteer positions:
- Client Advocates
- Nurse Sonographers
- Helpline Workers
- Clerical Helpers
- Board of Directors
- Boutique Manager/Co-Managers
Volunteer training will be offered to qualified candidates. Sonography training will be provided for selected volunteer nurses.
